Variety reports that Amazon MGM scrapped Martin Gero’s Stargate series over fears it "would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise’s already dedicated fanbase." It died before a single frame was filmed, after a finished 20-week writers’ room and UK pre-production. Per Deadline the call "came late in the process"; it reportedly landed internally the Friday before (~May 29) and broke the following Tuesday. Days, not months.
